Cleaning the bathroom

How often should bathrooms be cleaned?

The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in the house and requires as much hygiene as possible. The factors to consider when trying to determine how often a bathroom needs cleaning are the number of people living in the house and the frequency of use. The toilet and bidet (the most delicate to manage) should be cleaned quite frequently, even twice a week. Basins should be washed once a week, taking special care when cleaning the areas near the taps and drains. Arm yourself with a good anti-limescale product, especially when washing the shower - and do not forget the surrounding tiles!

Follow these steps

  • Gather the necessary tools: Make sure you have all the necessary cleaning tools at hand, such as surface cleaners, sponges, rags, toilet brushes and protective gloves.
  • Pre-treatment of surfaces: Spray specific detergents onto surfaces such as basins, shower, bathtub and toilet. Leave for a few minutes so that the detergent can soften the dirt and residues.
  • Surface cleaning: Use a damp sponge or cloth to scrub and clean all bathroom surfaces, including basins, mirrors, tiles, shower cubicle and bathtub. Be sure to also clean the faucets and door handles.
  • Toilet cleaning: Use a toilet brush and a specific detergent to clean the toilet. Be sure to clean both the toilet bowl and the toilet seat, and don't forget to clean under the edge of the toilet, where dirt and bacteria often build up.
  • Drying the surfaces: Once all surfaces have been cleaned, use a clean towel or dry cloth to dry the surfaces and prevent the formation of streaks.
