When cleaning the barbecue, do not forget to pay the same attention to the accessories used while grilling your food.
Steps
Lid: if your barbecue has a lid, you may notice small bubbles on the inner surface at the end of the grilling session. These are fat droplets that must be removed. Use a rigid plastic scraper, avoiding metal materials (which may cause abrasion). Next, spray a solution of water and vinegar and, after about ten minutes, rinse with a sponge.
Kitchen, tongs and forks: because they come into direct contact with food, it is essential to thoroughly clean these tools. Fill a bowl with water and two tablespoons of vinegar and leave the items to soak for 15-20 minutes. This method helps eliminate grease residues. Next, rinse and wash the accessories with ordinary dish soap, taking care to rinse them well to remove all food residues.
Steel containers for grease collaction: as these are the objects in which all the grease and food residues accumulate, cleaning them is the most demanding phase. This is where the most stubborn dirt is created. In these cases, we recommend using our Vim Oven and BBQ. After use, rinse the items with warm water and dry them with a soft cloth before reassembling.
Cutting board: the cutting board used to prepare the meat needs to be sanitised as well. Avoid using detergents and rub the surface with half a lemon instead. Next, rinse under lukewarm water.
At the end of the season, when it's time to store the barbecue for the winter months, pass an oil-soaked sheet of kitchen paper over the surfaces and grill. This measure effectively prevents the formation of rust.
